FOCUS ISSUES: Liquid Clay
Liquid clay continues to grow in popularity. The diverse color options and the mediums people experiment with using as additives are almost endless. Beyond molding, which is awesome in itself, you can do so many unique things with liquid clay. In this issue, we explore just a few of them. Our readers have asked for more non-jewelry ideas, and this month we deliver!
The Polymer Chef uses liquid clay to create a useful home decor item that would make a great hostess or housewarming gift. Linda Leach shares a fantastic tutorial for painting with liquid clay. Sandy Huntress makes fun window clings. Of course, we also have some fabulous jewelry projects to share too. I explored creating freeform faux fuzed glass, and I'm addicted to this technique now! Organic "Honesty" jewelry by Jackie Newton is on my must try list. We've also got a whimsical fish bowl pendant by Anastasia Kondel, and a tutorial by Angela Thompson for paint pouring which I can't wait to try.
In The Color Corner with Jessica Hager, Jessica shares luscious recipes for a color palette inspired by a "Summer Cupcake." Check it out and learn how you could possibly be published in an upcoming issue. Artist Tina Mežek talks about her love of liquid clay and shares stunning examples of her designs. Our Gallery inspires you with liquid clay projects. Thank you to all who participate in our monthly challenges!
We would love to have you share your versions of the techniques and projects each month in our Create Along Polymer Clay Tribe Facebook group - an amazing, creative, interactive community with over 18,000 members from around the world. Join the group at PolymerClayTribe.com. As always, we encourage all artists to submit their work for consideration for upcoming issues. Passion for Polymer is YOUR magazine. We want to continue to highlight the work of a variety of creative artists from around the world, with vastly different styles, and the best way to do that is by inviting all of you to share your work! You can find our submission information, themes, and deadlines at PassionforPolymer.com.
